5 Big Hair Trends at the BRIT Awards 2016

Last night was the BRIT Awards 2016 held at the O2 arena, London hosted by Ant and Dec. An eventful night with big performances from Rihanna and Drake, Justin Bieber, Coldplay and Adele – who swooped 4 BRIT awards! Our eyes were peeled for the latest hair and make-up trends hitting the red carpet.

Big winner of the night, Adele looked stunning in a deep wine dress with matching lips and heavy eye-liner – very 60’s retro glam. We love her bouncy blowdry highlighted lob which really frames her face.

The Top 5 Hair trends from the BRIT Awards 2016:

1. Bobs

Continuing to be a very popular hair trend amongst the stars at the BRIT awards 2016 are bobs. Styled super sleek and centered like Rihanna’s, or longer and highlighted to the side like Caroline Flacks, or dark, glossy with a parted fringe like Alexa Chung. However they are styled, shorter hair is a big trend and is here to stay. Bobs are just so chic for an evening event and look best accompanying thin spaghetti straps or strapless dresses as it highlights your collarbones and arms. Keep jewellery to a minimum with just a statement ring, or bracelets and earrings and keep the neckline free.

2. Half up with long curls

Couldn’t decide between up top or down and long, singer Ella Eyre had beautiful voluminous curls with a top knot to keep the focus on her face. Cheryl added beautiful hair extensions for her long and flowing red carpet look last night.

3. XXL Red Hair

Red curly hair was larger than life on the BRIT Awards 2016 red carpet last night from Jess Glynne and Fleur East! A bold statement style and not for everyday, but was perfectly striking on the red carpet to show off your inner disco diva!

4. Bed Hair Blondes

Black backless dresses, smoky eyes and messy wavy blonde hair seemed to be the go-to style on the carpet last night. German model, Toni Garrn and TV Presenter Ferne Cotton roughed up their wavy tresses to compliment their striking black backless dresses. MTV Presenter Laura Whitmore went for a gothic look with a black choker and smoky eyes to suit her striking long blonde locks. To achieve this look at home, rough up hair using a Sea Salt spray and scrunch hair with your fingers. Use on towel dried hair or 1 day old hair for that effortless beachy vibe. We love KMS HairPlay Sea Salt Spray available in Rush Salons

Braids on the red carpet add a punky alternative look to an evening dress. We loved seeing a mix of braids on Rudimental singer Anne-Marie and Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne’s long blue braids.
