Jessie J’s not the only one who can turn their hair blue in next to no time.
Demi Lovato’s only gone and done it too – though her new hair hue is a gorgeous aquamarine shade of teal rather than a bright powder blue. She debuted the bold new look on Instagram earlier in the month. We love this look on Demi, and after seeing her perform on Jay Leno with the new ‘do we love it even more with Miss Lovato’s naturally chestnut roots peering through. Honestly, this may be our favourite Demi look yet, but in case we’re jumping the gun we thought we’d go through some of the best ‘dos rocked by the pop star and US X Factor judge to help us make up our minds.
The Flyaway Friend
Lovato’s sprawling eyelashes and stunning skin tone make this relaxed up-do look ever so effortless and classically feminine.
We love the subtle red tint in Miss Lovato’s tips too, and a set of bare shoulders really amplify the sex appeal of this style.
The Sky-High Pony
This impossibly long (we suspect she may have had a little help there) ponytail style is all drama. Its height has something of a ‘90s feel, making it a bang-on-trend look for any of you who may be feeling inspired by Miss Lovato’s retro style.
The ‘80s Revival
Before any of you go thinking that Miss Lovato was up until recently a stranger to style risk-taking, look no further than this fluffy bleached mullet mop. If you like the look of this, well, look, then fear not. This ‘do is brought straight back to the ’00s style books with some super slick sides. After teasing the lengths of your hair, be sure to be generous with the styling gel to achieve Miss Lovato’s smooth sideburns.
The Two-Tone Chignon
What is it about this colour combination that is so mouth-wateringly delectable? Miss Lovato’s edgy spin on the classic chignon bun is a veritable chocolate box of caramels, honeys, vanillas and, of course, creamy pralines. Mmmm.
The Chocolate Top Knot
Miss Lovato’s deep brunette, impossibly glossy locks look impossibly rich in this chic top knot.
The Fiery Siren
This subtle, smouldering red is a tricky tone to pull off, but we think Miss Lovato and this hair hue are a match made in style heaven.
The Platinum Side-Sweep
The ubiquitous red carpet side-sweep is given a modern update by Miss Lovato in this boldly golden hue.
This look is all about texture – so if you’re not naturally blessed with tonnes of it, invest in a good texturising spray or go generous with salt spray, curl and brush out for a softer look and pin back any stray hairs. Voila!
Which is your favourite Lovato look? We’re still crazy about her new ‘do – what do you think of it?
