The top 5 Oscars 2016 Hair Trends:
1. So slick
Keeping hair slick and off the face was a big trend on the red carpet last night. Rachel McAdams, Charlize Theron, Rooney Mara and the big winner of the night Leonardo Dicaprio all looked stunning with their slicked back do’s. For the ladies, hair up and back looked very dramatic with smoky eyes and a beautiful floor length dress. Spritz Shower Shine Spray Wet Domination by L’Oreal Professionnel through your hair and comb back and up into a bun or twist and pin with kerby grips.
We love Rooney Mara’s alternative look with 2 little buns pulled back. The top knot heavily slicked back with hairspray is great for pulling a fringe off your face for a night out.

2. Parted, sleek and straight
For real red carpet glam, amongst the award winning actresses, hair was kept low maintenance and straight, sleek and and behind the shoulders. This is a great quick style to try for longer hairstyles, to try this look at home, pick your parting – middle or side using a tail comb, we love Ghd tail comb to get a super straight line. Then spritz the roots of your hair with Shower shine spray wet domination and comb hair down to your ears. Let the rest of your hair stay natural or straighten from the ears down using GHD irons. Make-up is best kept to a minimum, just gently line the eyes and use a rosy pink shade on the lips. Keep the neckline bare to show off delicate straps or a bustier dress and pair with big glitzy earrings!

3. Old Hollywood Curls
Lady Gaga, Andra Day, Emily Blunt and Naomi Watts were keeping it classic with a side parted, shoulder length Hollywood waves. Keep it loose and natural like Naomi and Emily, ask your stylist for a soft curl blowdry, using a small rounded brush to create tight curls. Then part hair to the side and brush through with a bristle brush to group the curls together for an overall wave, spritz with Rush Shine and Refine finishing serum.
For a more sculpted bouncy Hollywood look, like Andra and Lady Gaga, use rollers to hold your hair in sections during your blowdry. Then use KMS Maximum Hold Hairspray too keep curls tight and locked in place. Try at home with a GHD curl wand. Divide the hair in sections and starting from the root, wrap the hair around the GHD Curling Tong horizontally. Hold for about 10 seconds then release and twirl the curl with your finger. Spray each section separately with hairspray for maximum hold.
One of the Oscars 2016 hair trends which proves to still be going strong are braids. From braided buns like Tina Fey and Olivia Munn to halo braids as seen on Olivia Wilde to a full on french plait like Chrissy Teigen.
