Rush Co-founder Stell Andrew Takes A Trip Down Memory Lane

A new salon launch will always get us popping a bottle of champagne but we are super excited about our latest one in London’s Wimbledon Village!

Just over 20 years ago, Rush co-founders Stell Andrew and Andy Phouli opened their first salon just down the road in Wimbledon. We spoke to Stell to find out how far Rush has come, and why going back to their roots had proved to be such a milestone.

You must be blown away by how much Rush has grown over the years. Can you tell us where it all started?

When we opened our first salon in Wimbledon, our goal was to help clients make the most of the hair with modern, bespoke hairstyles. It has been an incredible journey for us to say the least. We now have more than 85 salons across the country, have become regulars at events like London Fashion Week and picked up a number of awards along the way.

When I think back to the ’90s, it’s incredible how much treatments, techniques and trends have changed. Back then everyone wanted the ‘Rachel from Friends’ layers or a Baby Spice fringe. But over the years, our ethos has remained the same – we want you to leave looking and feeling fabulous.

Why did you choose Wimbledon Village for your latest salon opening?

If you’ve never visited Wimbledon Village before, we can tell you it has a real buzz with plenty of restaurants, delis, bars and cafés to try, especially on High Street.

There’s a real community spirit here in Wimbledon Village – we can see why it’s so popular with both locals and all those looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of central London.

Our team of experts are looking forward to helping you get the perfect look for a night out with friends, or if you want to relax after a shopping trip.

Ooo, sounds good! What treatments will the salon offer?

We have a full range of cut and colour services, as well as indulgent treatments like relaxing head massages in the spot-lit spa.

Pop in and speak to our stylists who can help you with everything from beautiful Balmain hair extensions and luxurious Shu Uemura treatments, plus consultations for men and women and wedding hair tips.

We’ve also designed our opening hours around your busy life, with appointments available 9pm Monday to Friday and on Sundays.

Rush opens the doors to its newest salon in Wimbledon Village on 18th March.

To celebrate the launch, we’re giving you 50 per cent off your next visit – simply book your appointment online or call 020 3474 6998.
