Hi Sandra, tell us about yourself?

I’ve been in the hairdressing industry and working in salons; education, training, colour and retail for over 25 years. I have 12 years experience as a salon owner in my local town.

I started working as an apprentice in a large salon in Northampton and then gained experience working on cruise liners for 2 years in the 90’s. This then led me to work with a large manufacturing company as a colour educator/ retail consultant.

What did you do before becoming a Rush franchisee?

I have gained a wealth of experience working for direct and distributor companies, running workshops/ courses, launching new products in Dubai and over the last three years I worked for a national hair care brand in the UK as Brand Educator. This is where I had the opportunity to travel overseas and the UK working with hairdressers and sales people, for the brand, to help inspire and motivate others to better their technical skills.

What attracted you to Rush?

Whilst researching franchise opportunities, I was drawn to the exceptional network of support and wanted to work towards a successful salon in the Midlands. I really believe in Rush Hair as a growing brand built together with a creative and inspirational Artistic Team. All the awards and achievements are a real attraction to motivate my team.

Why did you decide to franchise with Rush?

I decided Rush was for me because the brand is passionate, edgy and up to date with today’s fashion. The hairdressing awards and recognition of success is something I want to work towards.

How have you found the franchising process?

The franchising process so far has been challenging but I have the best support from all the Rush Head office team and all the salon owners. It’s baby steps until the opening and then it will be very exciting. I can’t wait!

What made you choose Leicester to open your Rush salon?

I live in Northampton and was looking for somewhere west of my home town. Leicester is a fabulous location and a thriving city with lots of scope and activity. It is an exciting time to get to know the area as it is an up and coming location with lots of enthusiasm from the people who live and work there. The salon is also central to the best shopping and leisure facilities.

What can customers expect from the new Leicester salon?

Speaking from the heart we will provide one of the best hairdressing services available, second to none customer service while creating beautiful hair for clients.

How would you describe your new salon team?

Awesome! We have a few amazing stylists already and I’m excited to see them in action but we are still searching for the best to join the team.

What are you looking forward to most about having your own Rush salon?

Doing what I do best! I am excited to get on. I want to create a great message for my salon, create a great reputation and work with an amazing brand Rush.
