Rush Live 2013
On Sunday 13th October 2013, Rush Hair came together to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital as part of the HairRaising fundraising appeal. The Rush London Artistic and Workshop teams presented the highly anticipated Rush Live, a creative and inspirational event which showcases Rush’s sensational new hair collections every year.
Hosted in the superb London Playhouse Theatre, the night began with a bang. Downstairs in the VIP room, the champagne was flowing as industry professionals mingled and discussed the latest season styles and trends. Upstairs, conversations filled the air and anticipation intensified as the venue quickly filled up.
At 7pm, founder Andy Phouli kicked off the show by introducing the real cause of the show, Great Ormond Street Hospital. Hayley Richardson, a GOSH representative, spoke about the fantastic work the organisation carries out, helping many children every year. A beautiful video showcasing the work of GOSH was played barely leaving a dry eye in the room.
Summer of Love
Rush Live kicked off in sheer Rush Style as the Artistic team came out and owned the stage. Our host, International stylist Andy Heasman, introduced the first section, the Summer of Love collection. Hair masterminds Paola Pinto and Chris Williams really got the audience buzzing as they whipped up a stunning collection full of bright and sensual summer colours, sleek looks and romantic curls. An edgy catwalk routine kept the audience transfixed as the team finished off their inspiring looks. Dip dye returns this season and was used throughout the collection to create these summery looks, giving the audience an eyeful.
The Modification Collection was definitely a show stopper and had one of the most creative, artistic looks of the night. Tina Farey, Jamie Benny, Dale Herne and Isabella Hyde really wowed the audience by creating incredible looks on stage that seemed near to impossible to craft. This section entranced everybody as the team worked to a fast and intense pace to complete these looks on stage. The live feed throughout the night allowed the audience to get up close and personal with each individual stylist watching them work their magic on their models. On completion the models stunned the captivated crowd as they broke into a provocative and mesmerising routine.
The final section was led by Southern Hair Dresser of the Year finalist Seung Ki Baek, Alex Hardy, Cameron Byrne and Judith Rabanser. Each stylist created a chic, but edgy look in their personal interpretation of parametric. The short bob was the focus of this section, each individually altered, disconnecting every layer to give an artistic and finished look.
The Parametric models closed the show alongside the talented (break-dancers). The diversity of catwalk models meets street dancers worked well allowing the Rush Live audience to move to the beat. As the show came to a close all of the models and talented hair stylists took to the stage in true catwalk fashion.
Overall the night was a fantastic success. Models, music and dancers – what better way to spend a Sunday night.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who took the time out to attend and support the event. We are already counting down the days to Rush Live 2014.
