London Loves Rush
Rush Live was an outstanding success at Salon International this year. Our 10th live show was an explosion of expressive and inspired editorial collections.
The collaborative effort of the Rush Artistic and Workshop Team created an artistic showcase that celebrated 25 years of Rush Salons. This astounding showcase of creativity was all in aid of the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
Rush Live 2019 displayed cutting edge styles that pushed the boundaries of the hairdressing industry. It challenged the normalcy expected from hairstylists, all in a way that showcased our finest award winning talent. Stell Andrew kicked off the show by reflecting upon 25 year celebrations and expressing his love for Rush Live and helping GOSH Charity.
This all wouldn’t have been possible without our wonderful sponsors. Isalon Software, Nanokeratin UK, Maletti UK, KMS Hair UK, Balmain Hair UK and L’Oreal Professionnel. With their support Rush Live 2019 was a huge success and we want to say a massive Thank You!
Our International Creative Director Andrew Heasman, presented his ‘Point Constellation’ collection in celebration of being a finalist for London’s Hairdresser of the Year in the Hairdressing Journal- British Hairdressing Awards. The focal point of this collection takes inspiration from celestial and astronomical themes.
The Artistic Team each presented their take on Andrew’s cosmic concept, showcasing looks that utilised shapes and colours influenced by constellations and intergalactic imagery.
This heavenly concept took form with cool-toned colours, intersecting cuts and experimental textures. Each look from the artistic team displayed high-end looks and techniques that can easily be integrated in to looks used in salons.
Celebrating 25 Years of Rush
The workshop team then took to the stage to present their recreations of past collections. We are celebrating 25 years of Rush Salons, so this segment was to honour our history. Each workshop team member chose their favourite signature look to take inspiration from, bringing each collection to life using their own signature techniques.
The team recreated some amazing looks and described their individual journeys with Rush from the beginning to where they are now. This underscored how Rush’s motto of strength and movement has remained strong within our work since the day we opened in 1994…The Rush Way!
Paint On Hardware
Our International Editorial Director and Fellowship Hairdresser of the year Tina Farey, showcased her exploration of the Avant Garde world in this year’s show. Her collection titled ‘Paint on Hardware’ included cutting-edge paint stricken hair looks that used a combination of strong hardware and angular cuts. Tina’s ingenious display of creativity portrayed the limitless versatility of hair styling.
Overall, this years Rush Live was a true representation of Rush as a brand. creative and powerful. The looks presented in the show this year have set the bar high for innovation in hairdressing and it was all for a fantastic cause.
We want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone that attended and supported Rush Live 2019. We cant wait for your continued support in the future.
