Rush’s artistic team was asked to assist backstage at this year’s Men’s Collections London.

Purple Door in Piccadilly was the venue for Rake’s Autumn Winter 2014 Men’s show; a collection inspired by Robert Redford, Steve McQueen and Paul Newman. ‘A classical groomed man’ as referenced by lead stylist on the show, Johnnie Sapong.

The clothing took its inspiration from effortless luxurious style and the hair styles followed suit, with great sharp cuts, square layers, and free moving styles with a lightly windswept look.

Working on 20 models throughout the day, using Bumble and Bumble styling products to achieve these looks, Andy Heasman commented ‘I loved the way each models hair suited their outfit. Tailoring looks to each model as opposed to working on a uniformed approach, is a great way to work and build on creative ideas’.

Day three of the event saw Rush move to The Old Sorting Office, an amazing venue with a real edgy vibe, bright lights and a strong focused catwalk.  The Rush team worked closely with stylist Johnnie Sapong again but this time for the Oliver Spencer show with 18 models. The brief was to enhance the models current look but not to achieve an over groomed effect. The influence was effortless with a masculine edge and facial hair grooming was key to these looks.

Dale Herne and Cameron Byrne felt rewarded to be a part of the shows, Dale enthused ‘ Johnnie runs this team at such a cool, calm and professional pace, it is such an honour to work with him, especially on such a brilliant brand like Oliver Spencer’.

Johnnie Sapong was thrilled with Rush’s work and commitment to Men’s Collections London – ‘You did a great job this morning, the models looked fab, the haircuts were exceptional. You’ve been a great support over the last two days.’
