The time of the year that all fashion lovers look forward to – London Fashion Week! Now, more than ever, the hair looks on the catwalk are becoming key trends for the upcoming seasons. Our Creative Team were excited to be a part of London Fashion Week!

The Central Saint Martin’s MA Show

On Friday 19 February, our Editorial Director, and Artistic Team member Tina Farey headed up the hair team for L’Oréal Professionnel. She was supported by a strong team of stylists in the L’Oréal Professionnel Portfolio Session Team – consisting of stylists from various salons including Rush’s Artistic Director, Andy Heasman, Artistic Team member, Jamie Benny and Workshop Team members Sophie Chandler and James Oxley.

The Central Saint Martin’s MA Fashion course is the only course that is a part of the official schedule of shows for London Fashion Week each February.

Commenting on the show Tina Farey says:

“It was an honour to be chosen as the head stylist for the Central Saint Martin’s MA show! The L’Oréal Professionnel Portfolio Session Team were fantastic to work with and took direction well!

The look for the night was 90’s grunge, lived in hair with a deconstructed parting. We created the texture by using loose plaits then flat ironing to create a raw flat texture. As the foundation for shape and hold We used Tec Ni ART Pli. To create the matted, grungy look at the roots we used L’Oréal Next Day Hair. Then on the ends we used L’Oreal Beach Waves to give a subtle wave plus Moroccan Oil for a dewy finish.”

Commenting on the show Tina Farey says:

“It was a pleasure being a part of such an amazing production by Gareth Pugh and the L’Oréal Team. The theme was dark and gothic with a religious feel. The models wore red crosses painted on their faces while the hair incorporated strong high ponytails and short micro fringes to represent a strong independent woman warrior.”
