Ever braided so many heads of hair that people were worried you had no fingers left? Neither have we, but we know of three very talented people armed with the Rush Salon range of products (available at Marks and Spencers and ShopRush) who did in King’s Cross recently.

Meet James, Charlotte and Brooke, who recently held what we can only describe as a braid-a-thon at Emerald Streets‘ All Day Brunch a recent collaboration with Kerb in Kings Cross. Allow us to set the scene.

In temperatures of 24 degrees we set up in the very nice Lewis Cubitt Square NC1 early Saturday morning.

To our left you could meet the talented Rosies Wonders, purveyor of some wonderful temporary tattoos. To our right The Makery spreading the knowledge with flower crown making sessions. Being of a amiable persuasion we decided to make friends and (the first of many) braids too.

We couldn’t have wished for better weather and were hoping for a crowd, but we didn’t expect what happened next.

As the music of DJ Wheelie Bag and the many eateries whirled into action, so did we. Before long we realised that this was going to be a very exciting, beautifully bright day!

So the gates opened and so did the complimentary Aperol Spritz. Rush had caught people’s attention from the start.

On offer were a selection of three braids the Chainmail, Double Fishtail and Braid Away, after our first few we looked up and the challenge was on. Here’s a selection of some of the new friends we made and highlights of our day.

As the day went on we spread the word about the free masterclasses in festival braids and other techniques at The House of Rush in Piccadilly. Want to get your free masterclass? Click here.

If you love braids as much as we do then check out our how to quick tutorials at the bottom of this post. Learn the Double Fishtail, Braid Away and Festival Braid.

All in all it was a really enjoyable day meeting so many new faces and putting a face to some familiar names was great and Emerald Street with Kerb hosted great food, crafts and music. We all had just a little suntan and many many braids had been delivered!
