It’s that time of the year when the weather heavily affects your hair’s health and style. To avoid walking into the office or event looking like you’ve just battled a storm, we’ve put together some styles and products for how to style your hair for the UK’s infamous wet and windy days.

1. The Pony Tail

The Pony Tail is easy and simple for stormy weather. This style helps to keep your hair up and out of your face, eyes and lipgloss! Just like Carmen, you can create a sleek ponytail by adding a small amount of hairspray for hold. However take it a step further by creating a braided topknot. All you will need to do is make a high ponytail then braid the pony tail piece and secure the ends with small elastic band. Gently twist it to create a knot effect and use booby pins to keep it in place.

Rush Artistic Team and Academy educator Paola Pinto comments:

This is a great look to hold hair in place and insure it looks shiny and professional for any occasion!

Use Techni Art Liss Control on wet hair to style. Finish with Redken Shine and Redken Shine Flash 02.

2. An Edgy Braid

Braids are not as difficult to do as you may think. You can create different  types of braids that are edgy and simple enough to do before you rush out for work. Try a tight fishtail braid, it’s great for making sure your hair stays in tact while keeping on trend.

Paola comments:

Another  great look for bad weather! Loose ends don’t matter they just add to the look –  More fly away the better to add to that looser edgier look.

Apply Kerastase Spray A Porter on wet then. Dry, style and finish with Techni Art next day hair.

3. Twisted Side Ponytail

This is a cute and sophisticated look that is ideal for keeping your hair away from your face. Taylor’s take on the Twisted Side Ponytail can be easily replicated for a rainy day – gather your hair  to your best side, divide your hair into two sections on that side and start twisting hair from the top and continue by adding more hair to the twist until a tight twist reaches the bottom of your ear. Secure with an elastic band and bobby pins.

Paola says:

A loose, sexy and cute look to help keep your hair in place.

Keep the look natural with: Kerastase Mousse Boufant on wet hair. Dry hair then style and finish with Redken Fashion Work 12 Hairspray.

4. An Easy Bun

You can’t go wrong with a quick and easy bun. Jessica Forest shows how a messy bun can look cute and chic. Put your hair into a high or low ponytail then wrap, twist or loop your hair and secure with bobby pins.
For hair that needs to be refreshed but you haven’t got time: Apply Techni Art Crepage De Chignon on dry hair. Style hair and finish with Redken Fashion Work 12 Hairspray.

5. Twisted Up Do

Lauren Conrad is a a big fan of twisted dos. Take small sections of hair and begin twisting them back. The smaller the sections, the better. Secure with bobby pins and pull hair back into a messy bun for a easy, yet pretty look! Use hairspray to reduce frizziness and hold it in place.

Paola advises:

‘This look works best on hair that is not freshly washed!’

Apply Techni Art Crepage De Chignin on Dry Hair. Style and finish with Redken Control Addict 28 Hairspray.
