Wedding Hair Inspiration

Choosing how to wear your hair on your wedding day is only slightly less stressful than seeking out the perfect wedding dress. Along with every aspect of your bridal look, you want your hair to live up to the occasion but settling on a suitably special style isn’t easy.

Are you thinking glamorous wavy tresses or an elegant up-do? Is it better to go for a chic contemporary look or something more timeless and classically romantic? Should you embellish with an accessory or opt for a plaited style?

Just in case you’re struggling for inspiration, we’ve picked out a few of our favourite wedding hair ideas to suit a variety of styles and hair types.

Fishtail plaits

A tried and tested wedding ‘do that rarely fails to wow, a fishtail plait looks intricate and fiddly but is actually pretty easy to achieve. It’s also a wonderfully versatile style that can be worn in a variety of ways – tight and polished, loose and messy, half-up-half-down… Once you’ve mastered the technique you can have fun experimenting with all sorts of fab fishtail styles.

Mermaid waves

Like the idea of a more free-spirited wedding day look? Big beachy boho hair that’s long. loose and luxuriously wavy can look stunning. The key to mermaid waves is to avoid tight ringlets and aim for soft, undone curls.

Floral chignon

You can really go to town with flower embellished hair but sometimes a more subtle, sparing arrangement is the way to go. This chic low chignon shows how elegant and romantic a well-executed updo can look. The addition of handmade chiffon flowers elevates the look to create an ethereal, wedding-worthy hairdo.

Half halo braid

The halo braid is a classic bridal style – it’s an angelic, romantic and beautifully natural looking ‘do that’s a lot easier to achieve than you might expect. But how about a half halo braid? This relaxed take on the familiar braided look is influenced by the ubiquitous half up, half down hair trend and makes for a stunning wedding style.
