Rush Session Team invited to style the hair for designer Yohji Yamamoto
Breaking the boundaries of creativity, RUSH Session Team were invited to style the hair for ground-breaking designer Yohji Yamamoto at the V&A Fashion in Motion programme.
Showcasing collections inspired by the V&A textile archives, the garments were modelled by real life couples whose hair was styled by RUSH Session Team lead by Editorial Director Tina Farey, Artistic Team member Sam Burnet and RUSH Academy Manager Paola Pinto. The team in association with L’Oreal Professionnel devised individual looks for each couple with a 50s inspiration. The team worked with the model’s hair to create an individual style to complement the garments which Yamamoto describes as modest and arrogant at the same time.
“Working with such an inspirational designer as Yamamoto was an honour for RUSH. It was really exciting to work with the unique element of using every day people as models; it gave the show a fresh yet contemporary feel to it. The V&A Museum is such an amazing venue; a perfect setting”
