A new Rush salon is on it’s way! On 20th June 2015 we’ll be opening our 66th salon on 22 High Street, Weybridge. We’re thrilled to be opening with a fabulous Hair & Beauty publication guru, Debra Freeman-Thorpe. In a completely new location for the brand, this salon is set to be a fresh addition to the high street, offering a one of a kind service: the Rush Way.
The official Grand Opening is set to be an exciting, and of course fabulous event. Customers and visitors on the day will be treated to a celebratory glass of bubbly, cupcakes, a luxury goodie bag, a chance to win amazing prizes and a face painter for the children. Debra will be accompanied by the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Mrs Tannia Shipley to cut the ribbon at 10am.

Debra tells us all about her new salon, in our latest interview:
Tell us about yourself: What is your professional background? Do you have experience in hair/beauty industry?
I’ve been in publishing most of my life, training as a journalist and working my way up to becoming Managing Editor of two trade journals both in the hair and beauty industry, until 2003. I then concentrated on my family and my husband’s financial business for a couple of years, but keeping my hand in with freelance editing of news, features and online copy. I’ve recently come back from three years working and living in Dubai with my husband, working on 12 high-end tourism magazines and helping to build an interactive website for five-star travellers to Dubai. Since returning to the UK late last year, I have been searching for the right franchise opportunity and naturally gravitated towards the hair industry, having loved it so much previously!
What attracted you to Rush?

What are you looking forward to most from having your own Rush salon?
I’m looking forward to both running my own business, striving for the best service and showing clients what we can do for them. I’m also looking forward to bringing together a fabulous team with both the experience and the drive to succeed with me.
Tell us about your salon location. What’s special about Weybridge?
Weybridge is a lovely town that still retains a ‘village’ feel. I’ve recently visited just about every retailer in the high street to introduce myself and the brand and I’ve had the most friendly and encouraging response. Literally, everyone I spoke to welcomed me to Weybridge! The town itself has a long history of traditional trading that concentrates on top customer service and includes many independent retailers as well as high-end supermarkets, fashion outlets, coffee shops, trendy bars and wonderful restaurants. I love it so much, I’m moving to Weybridge very soon!
What can customers expect from the new Rush Weybridge salon?
The new salon absolutely meets and then exceeds the Rush concept of design, space and light. Although it largely follows the Rush brand inside, our salon designers have added a few tweaks specifically for Weybridge, including exceptional lighting, a separated backwash area that promotes a calm and relaxing environment and comfortable waiting area with a plush sofa and magazines galore!
How would you describe your new salon team?
My team have been selected for their skills, experience and attention to detail. There’s been a lot of work behind the scenes to gather together a cohesive and motivated group of stylists which I am very proud of. I wanted to make sure each and every one of us puts the customer first and we can’t wait to start!
