At Rush we are always asked by our clients how to grow their hair longer. The simplest way to ensure your locks grow is by making sure your body is getting the vitamins it needs. We have rounded up the 6 best essential vitamins needed for hair growth!

6 Essential Vitamins For Hair Growth

Vitamin A

Vitamin A helps produce sebum on the scalp which prevents hair from drying and breaking. This vitamin is needed for proper cell growth. There are many types of foods you can eat which contain Vitamin A such as carrots, sweet potato, butternut squash and kale.

Vitamin B

The second vitamin essential for hair growth is Vitamin B, there are eight vitamins in the B category (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, and B12) and you can tell if you aren’t taking in enough Vitamin B, because your hair might not grow as fast as it is used to. Good foods to eat which are enriched with Vitamin B are; cheese, eggs and red meat.

Vitamin C

This vitamin assists in strengthening hair and helping it grow. This is because Vitamin C aids the body in producing collagen, which is needed for healthy hair. You can take a Vitamin C supplement or just start eating foods that are high in Vitamin C, for example; kale, broccoli, kiwi, and strawberries.

Vitamin D

The easiest way to boost Vitamin D levels is to spend some time in the sun as this vitamin promotes follicle growth. In the winter months for luscious long locks you will need to eat foods rich in Vitamin D such as salmon, milk, eggs and take Vitamin D supplements.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, it repairs and builds tissue. It repairs damaged hair follicles and can increase blood circulation if you apply it to your scalp. You can purchase Vitamin E oil and massage it into the scalp at least twice a week, this will promote hair growth. Vitamin E is found in sunflower seeds, nuts, and avocados.

Vitamin K

Including Vitamin K in your diet helps maintain healthy hair. Spinach includes vitamin K, as does green beans, broccoli, and kale.

Please consult a medical professional before making any dietary changes.
