Did you win the Double Rollover Lottery this week? You did? Great – you can now afford Laser Treatment.

For the rest of the World, talk to Rush Beauty about IPL – an alternative that does much more for a lot less.

So lets start with the basics…

IPL stands for ‘Intense Pulsed Light’, which is a type of light therapy used to treat:
Sun Damage
Acne Scars
Thread Veins
Hyper Pigmentation
Hair Reduction

This treatment uses Intense Light Energy to reduce the appearance of scars, spots and excess hair. It targets problem areas with multiple wavelengths. This light energy then turns into heat which damages the unwanted pigments or follicles. This encourages the skin to repair itself and heal the skin over time.

RUSH trained therapists use IPL techniques to safely remove and reduce areas of skin concern. Our recommendation is a course of three or more treatments by which time you will see rejuvenated and revitalised skin. A patch test it also required before your first session.

Even if you had heard of IPL treatment before, you may not fully understand it, and will ikely have a number of questions – Is it a permanent solution for my skin? Is it is painful? Is it effective? We hear these concerns regularly and our team of experts are here to answer your queries and to help you understand the effectiveness of this treatment.

IPL for scar, vein and spot reduction

Buying hundreds of creams that promise to eradicate problem areas is costly and a time-waster. IPL is an effective treatment that targets problems areas on a cellular level. It treats redness, sun damage, thread veins and acne or surgery scars by attacking their structures, and pigments on a deeper level.

What is IPL hair removal?

Waxing, shaving or epilating! Honestly, the things we do to ourselves to get a smooth, hairless body! Going through the pain and with the ongoing maintenance, can become daunting and time consuming. which is why more and more people are choosing a more permanent solution to hair removal.

What is the difference between IPL and Laser?

The light from IPL is more scattered and less focused than a laser. IPL penetrates down to the second layer of your skin (dermis) without harming the top layer (epidermis), so it causes less damage to your body. A variety light waves are used within IPL where the intensity is a lot lower than a laser treatment whereas a laser procedure produces one powerful wave. As a result from laser treatment is more permanent.

Benefits of IPL

So if laser is more effective and longer lasting, why should you go for an IPL treatment? There a few advantages of IPL over laser.

It is a more affordable service

Treatment can be altered depending on skin type, texture, hair colour and thickness.

There is less of a risk of damaging the skin

How to prep for an IPL treatment?

Before your first IPL appointment, you’ll need to have a skin consultation and a patch test to see how the treatment will react to your skin.

We recommend that you avoid any hair removal methods especially waxing and tweezing for at least 2 weeks prior to the treatment. This is because, waxing and tweezing weaken the hair and cause it to break which may mean your treatment will be less effective.

Please avoid sun exposure before your treatment. This includes going out in the sun, sun beds and fake tanning. This could make the treatments less effective or encourage side affects.

You’ll also want to stop using skin irritants like toners and acid-based exfoliants three days prior to the appointment.

At the start of your treatment, you’ll be asked to remove makeup, sunscreen and moisturisers. The area that you’re looking to treat has to be completely clean skin.

How many session will you need?

Lightening of scars and spots, and hair reduction is noticed after one treatment. However, depending on your desired results, we recommend having a course of six or more to see longer lasting results.
