In its 30th year, the Awards bring together the top names in the industry for a night of celebration and recognition of hairdressing talent in the UK. Over the 20 years of Rush’s existence we are proud to have won over 14 BHAs!
HJ’s Executive Director Jayne Lewis-Orr gave a grand welcome, then the highly anticipated host for the night, comedian and TV personality, James Corden set the mood with non-stop humour and entertainment as he presented the show. Amongst performances was the X Factor’s Union J who took to the stage singing a medley of their hits.
Dressed in their most glamorous outfits and hair-dos, excitement and anxiety filled the room at Rush Team’s table as they announced the winners. Up against six talented hairdressers from across the country, Jamie Benny was named HJ’s Newcomer of the Year 2014. A roar of excitement filled the room. Watch now to see his reaction:
In awe Jamie accepted his BHA trophy and gave a short heart felt speech saying;
‘What a dream! Thank you so much! This has been my dream and ambition to be here holding this award right now. All I can say is that the people that have got me through is the Rush Team.’
