Safety First in Salons

We’re so excited to welcome you back to Rush soon. And as always our priority is keeping you and our incredible team members safe and well.

In light of Covid-19, we’ve made some changes to our salons so when we open our doors again we can offer the Rush experience you’ve come to expect while prioritising everyone’s safety.

At Rush, we’re passionate about keeping you and our teams safe and well. We’ll continue to share more about the changes we’re making, and follow any government guidelines that may be created in the coming weeks.

Take care and we’ll see you soon!

Before Your Visit

We ask that you arrive when your visit is scheduled to start and not earlier. For safety, we are limiting the number of people in a salon at any one time so there will not be a waiting area inside.

We also ask that you show up for your visit alone unless you need to bring a parent, guardian, or carer.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late we may need to rebook your appointment for another time as we need to stick to timings very carefully to make sure there are not too many people in the salon. The salon manager will advise whether you need to be rebooked or if your appointment can begin late.

You should have received and completed a COVID-19 health and safety questionnaire 24 hours before your visit. If you haven’t completed one you’ll be asked to do so, we need every client to answer these questions so we can keep everyone safe.

Our team members will all have their temperatures checked each day when they arrive so we can ensure no one working in the salon has a fever.

Salons may be able to accommodate walk-ins and consultations but each salon manager will decide on a case by case basis whether they have the capacity.

During Your Visit

When you first arrive there will be a sign on the door of the salon with guidance to help you understand what changes have been made.

We will have screens between each station and floor markings to help you with social distancing. There will also be hand sanitiser available and you will be asked to use this when you first arrive.

All our stylists will be wearing disposable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like aprons and visors. It will be mandatory from the 8th August for all clients to wear a mask in salon.

When you arrive at your styling station chair, you will find a disposable clear bag with a disposable gown inside for you to put on for your appointment. Please use this bag to store your coat and handbag once you have put your gown on. This will ensure they stay safe and clean and no one else needs to touch them. We ask that you don’t bring anything unnecessary to the salon as we will be unable to store this safely.

We encourage you to bring your own drink as we won’t be able to serve the complimentary refreshments you’re used to. We will have disposable cups for water available but please bring your own if at all possible.

Magazines have also been removed from salons because they are handled by multiple people and there’s not a good way for us to disinfect them. You may bring your own but please be sure you remove it with you when you leave.

Every piece of equipment that your stylist may use will be cleaned before your visit. We will be cleaning equipment throughout the day between every client for your safety. We will be using a Covid tested anti-bacterial spray on all surfaces, furniture and mirrors to keep everyone in the salon as safe as possible.

Your stylist will use the mirror to speak with you rather than talking face to face. Please try to avoid turning to speak with them even at the beginning and end of your visit.

If you need to use the bathroom it will be available and we have special cleaning protocols to ensure this is safe for both our team and our clients to use throughout the day.

After Your Visit

All Rush salons are now cashless for all payments so please bring a debit or credit card with you to pay when you visit. If you would like to tip your stylist you will be able to do this with your card and they will receive the tip directly in their wages.

We’re committed to comply with the Government’s Track and Trace programme to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. If we are required to supply details to the Government for Track and Trace, we will provide your name, contact details and the times you were in the salon. Your data is safe with us, we store everything securely so that it’s GDPR compliant and we will never share your details unless it’s required under the regulations.

We are also launching a new customer app soon which will give you the opportunity to book and pay online to reduce the need to do this in the salon. We’ll let all clients know as soon as it’s available.

We will still have salon-quality products available to buy at the front desk, just ask about them as only the front desk will handle any products and we will have a limited number on display.
