Olaplex FAQs

What is Olaplex?

Olaplex offers a series of products designed to reverse damage from chemicals, heat and environmental factors. These treatments work inside your strands, protecting and healing broken hair bonds for a healthier look and feel.

Two of them, Olaplex 1 (Bond Multiplier) and Olaplex 2 (Bond Perfector), are only available in salons like ours. As well as regular salon Olaplex treatments, the brand recommends that each of its products are used at different points in your beauty routine.

Are Olaplex treatments vegan friendly?

Yes! All Olaplex treatments are vegan, as well as sulfate, paraben, and phthalate free, so you can rest assured they’ll be kind to your tresses.

How often should I get an Olaplex treatment?

Your Rush stylist will assess your individual needs and recommend the perfect amount of time in between Olaplex treatments. But as a general rule of thumb, we tend to recommend having this service every four weeks.

Who is Olaplex for and what other services can you have it with?

Olaplex is a haircare brand that sells products and treatments designed to repair and strengthen your hair. The in-salon treatment is extremely versatile, meaning every client with almost any hair type can benefit from having this service. It is also the perfect add on service, meaning it can be booked alongside most of the services we offer here at Rush.

What are the benefits of an Olaplex treatment?

The benefits of Olaplex are endless, with the main one being that it prevents and repairs damaged hair, making it too good to be true, for those that are regulars to colour. Others also include:

  • Shinier hair
  • Improves moisture
  • Strengthens hair
  • Reduces frizziness

What is the difference between Olaplex at-home treatments and in-salon treatments?

At-home Olaplex products are less concentrated and designed for ongoing maintenance, hydration, and preventing damage.

In-salon Olaplex treatments are professional-grade, highly concentrated, and used for intense repair during or after chemical services.

What hair colours does Olaplex work on?

Olaplex works on all hair colours and it is especially effective on colour-treated hair, whether it’s bleached, dyed, or highlighted. It helps with overall hair health by protecting it from damage caused by heat styling or environmental stressors, making it an essential part of any colour-treated hair care routine. Whether you’re refreshing your colour or trying to preserve the integrity of a new shade, Olaplex offers crucial protection and repair.

How is Olaplex applied?

  1. Apply Olaplex No. 1 Bond Multiplier to reduce damage during color processing
  2. Rinse the hair
  3. Apply Olaplex No. 2 Bond Perfector to repair and strengthen the hair

Your Rush stylist will apply Olaplex No1 to your hair and leave it to work it’s magic for 5 minutes.
